This trend can largely be explained by advances in technology and changes in modern lifestyles. Although it offers certain benefits, I believe it is overall a negative development.
近年来，人们越来越多地选择独自观看电影和电视节目，而不是与他人分享这一体验。这一趋势在很大程度上可以归因于技术进步和现代生活方式的改变。虽然它提供了一定的好处，但我认为这总体上是一种消极的发展。
One main reason for this change is the growing popularity of streaming platforms and portable digital devices. Instead of waiting to watch programmes on a shared television, people can now access a wide variety of content whenever and wherever they like. In addition, modern life is becoming increasingly busy, making it difficult for family members or friends to find a suitable time to watch together. This trend has both advantages and disadvantages. On the positive side, watching alone gives individuals complete freedom to choose what they want to watch without compromising with others. It also allows people to relax whenever they have free time. However, I believe the disadvantages are more significant. Watching films and television programmes together often creates opportunities for conversation, emotional connection and shared enjoyment. Discussing the plot, laughing at the same scenes or exchanging opinions afterwards helps strengthen relationships and creates lasting memories. If entertainment is increasingly consumed in isolation, these valuable interactions become less frequent, which may gradually weaken family bonds and reduce face-to-face communication. In conclusion, people increasingly watch films and television programmes alone because technology has made entertainment more accessible and modern lifestyles leave less time for shared activities.
